"If you can tell it, you can get it", meeting Teresa Suárez, Digital Marketing mentor

Teresa Suárez has recently joined La Lonja de la Innovación as a mentor in digital marketing, an increasingly key area in the world of entrepreneurship. And, because we want you to get to know her better, we sat down to talk with her to interview her and discover her relationship with entrepreneurship, as well as her professional career.

Her relationship with entrepreneurship

Her relationship with entrepreneurship "is personal, professional and also vocational", Teresa tells us. In addition, she lives it very closely, as she founded her own Communication, Marketing and Digital Business company, One to Corp. Since then, she has been accompanying innovative companies and projects for more than ten years to grow, communicate better and generate impact.

Her extensive knowledge and experience in this field led her to develop her own methodology, the Lumen Method, already applied in more than 60 scientific and technological initiatives with very positive results that demonstrate its usefulness: "they have managed to internationalize successfully or triple their turnover".

Aware of the great importance that communication and people have within companies, Teresa works every day to ensure that professionals know how to make the most of their skills and communication tools so that they apply them to their personal brand and company or institution.

Her path as an entrepreneur led her to venture into the world of mentoring to help other professionals go through what she has already experienced. In this way, she has had the opportunity to "accompany hundreds of teams in their first entrepreneurial steps".

All this has led her to achieve a great milestone in her career: being recognized in 2024 with the IVLP Impact Award by the US Department of State, becoming the first Andalusian to receive this award. A recognition that came after having been selected to attend the International Visitor Leadership Program in the United States, focused on Entrepreneurship and Business Development. A transformative experience that, she tells us, marked a before and after in her professional career and, in addition, she affirms that everything she learned there she applies with the companies she now works with to help them.

Tips for entrepreneurship

All of the above leaves no doubt about her close relationship with the entrepreneurial world and her experience accompanying startups has led her to discover what are, for her, some of the essential values for entrepreneurship. "For me, empathy is key, to build useful projects for society and always validate remembering that the client is at the center. Honesty, to sustain a clear purpose and surround yourself with good people. Resilience, to move forward even when there are doubts and continue learning and experimenting. And the ability to communicate clearly, to attract allies, investment and team".

After revealing what she considers key entrepreneurial skills, she also affirmed that anyone who wants to venture into this world should not wait to "have everything perfect", but rather they should launch, try, listen and adjust quickly. In addition, she advises all people to think big, but act with focus every day. Finally, she wanted to remember a reality: "entrepreneurship is also learning to live with uncertainty and to find strength in the collective", which is why she recommends that everyone surround themselves with mentors and people who have already solved the same problems they face.

Her role in La Lonja de la Innovación

She recently enthusiastically assumed her new role as mentor at La Lonja de la Innovación and is clear that "Huelva has a strategic position and an emerging ecosystem with great potential". In addition, Teresa believes that certain actions could be carried out from the province to promote innovation and entrepreneurship, such as practical training initiatives in entrepreneurship in schools and institutes; collaborative spaces and regular events to build community; mentoring and strategic advice from early stages, as we do at La Lonja de la Innovación; and ensuring a greater connection between talent, business and research centers.

Teresa advises anyone who is thinking of presenting their project to La Lonja de la Innovación "to do so without hesitation, to take advantage of this opportunity to expose their idea, improve it and connect it with an ecosystem that supports it. La Lonja is a real platform to advance projects with purpose from Huelva", she affirms.

In addition, from there they will be able to receive all the necessary support, advice and help from the entire team of mentors, including Teresa, who assures that she will accompany the teams "with experience, network, and above all with listening, helping them with their roadmap and commitment to their evolution".
